Nothing At All - Gentle Giant

On a sparklingly sunny morning there was little to do and little time to do it in, as for starters I had mistaken the departure time for this evenings adventure leaving even less time for the Blog. Hugh had a business meeting with Southern Water at the
which fitted perfectly for me to wander around the nature reserve
and VISITOR'S CENTRE. From the beginning there was not much of a feel about the place
and scanning across the expanse of one of three lakes all that was to be seen were c5 Mallard, singles of Coot and Great Crested Grebe plus a small flock of Black-headed Gulls.
Across the meadow towards the 2 hides
plenty of CHAFFINCHES were in evidence along with Meadow Pipits, Gold Finch, Blackbird Song Thrush and a Green Woodpecker.
The 'Bronze Age' house was interesting but locked, but the surrounding Sallows were alive with Chiffchaff and Goldcrest
in company with both COMMA and

RED ADMIRAL BUTTERFLIES. A very poor showing but not exactly 'nothing at all'.
The early issue of this post is because of an earlier Time of Departure than I had first thought, perhaps pointing to a more distant destination, but still I remain completely in the dark as to where that might be? Hope I'm back in time for tomorrow's post!
