WILD GOOSE CHASE - Part II

Neither Slack Hammock nor Absence from Place of Duty prevented today's Post until now only the appauling weather can be blamed for preventing us Netting the Intersurf (we have all this computer jargon weighed off) but slowly downhill from here on!
Down the Long and Steep Track to our Next Location
having given up on the Geese
where the Pond opened up before us.
There is a 'speciality bird' here that can be very much
'hit or miss' and on the face of it, after a first search was leaning towards the latter.
However, usually plenty more here to attract the attention but by the looks of it the
Dreaded 19 had put paid to the usually abundant food supply.
BLUE TITs
among others were being attracted to the fat balls in the trees and likely residue food
on the ground of interest to others such as
COAL TIT
along with
CHAFFINCH
and
BLACKBIRD
The real beauty of this location is that the Birds will flush to the like of vehicular and human activity but are not slow in returning to the feeding, so another walk around the rim looking for our target.
No joy but on our return it was the
DONKEYs
2 in number

that had come to us as had the targets of our desire

a pair at first
followed by 2 more Males
and 2 more female
MANDARIN DUCKS
and all most obliging.
Back to other more usual fare as this
MOORHEN
plodded out of the pond as both
NUTHATCH
and
MARSH TIT
fed both on the ground and on what
fruits were left on the trees.
The biggest surprise was saved until last here a a totally unexpected
HOUSE SPARROW
popped out of the undergrowth
the likes of which we have never seen here before across many, many visits.
Never say Never!
Having stated just how difficult it is to locate Pigs in the forest suddely,
while driving out of Fritham lightning decided to strike for a 'second' time, but did it??

It wasn't until we recoverd the film from the ipo did it dawn on us that this was the same
small drove as before!
Finally, what some may think of as ideal properties
within the bounds of the
New Forest
but we#ll stick with
Slight Return II
