The Woody Woodpecker's Song - Danny Kaye

Having cleared away the Fire, Smoke, Water and Dunnage 

of yesterday we can perhaps get back to more parochial things  such as

Moths and Birds et al.

Starting with the former and the overnight temperatures now starting to plummet, there was
little of note in the traps save for this

WHITE-TAILED

BUMBLEBEE

while as for the Birds all 3 of the resident British Woodpeckers were strutting their stuff

 but most surprisingly it was the diminutive

 LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER

 that showed its hand first!

In fact even that is incorrect as it was heard drumming firstly.
