Leaving on a Jet Plane - John Denver

A new Month, a new Header and the start of the Meteorological Spring,
after a none too harsh Meteorological Winter!
Oh yes, and it'll soon be Premium Bond Day again.
Yet another eventful 3 days period were even in late Winter one or two unexpected surprises were thrown up. Additionally, over the past few weeks we have been keeping a photographic record of what can only be described as the 'shenanigans' of the building contractors at Bournemouth International Airport - why should Britain tremble? If only for the laughter value we thought our readership should be privy to this particular sequence of events when in late January
BILL WHITE
completed the top dressing of soil/humus along the banks of the new Balancing Pond then, committing the residue earth to lorries, which was subsequently transported to the Eco Recycling Works here on Parley Court Farm.
The area looked a whole lot better than it has over the last 4 months
with the huge heaps removed, but it was hoped that a fence might be
erected between the new Factory and the expanded Water Course.
Hallelujah, within 10 days a proper security fence was put in place but.......
the jubilation was short lived as the very next day the whole thing was removed from site!
Then as you may have guessed the

'TOP SOIL' was delivered!
This in turn was protected by a temporary, 'crowd barrier' fence
until some days later when the (hopefully) permanent fence was put back in place.
There is more which will have to wait until those works are completed.
The undoubted highlight of the past few days was the brief appearance of a
 YELLOW-BROWED WARBLER
on Friday, maybe not surprisingly at the Sewerage Works Hedge.
With not a hope in hell of committing it to celluloid we have had to resort
to the archive to bring you an image of one of 'many' caught on the
Buchan Alpha Floating Oil Production Platform in the North Sea..
For information the only other on record from PCF was from the bushes behind Harbins Farmhouse back in 2012. This recent bird may even qualify as the only appearance of this occasional visitor from the east in Dorset this year, but is adequately 'upstaged' by a Pallas's Warbler near Portisham at this same time.
Most of that morning was spent patrolling the hedge were in addition was found a Firecrest, a few Goldcrest, the Siberian Chiffchaff again along with at least c5 (Common) Chiffchaff, Coal Tit while the
BLACK REDSTART
remained at the main gate to the works.
Saturday, and a good number of the

Didn't we just see that on the deck?
Into the distance a ribbon of black

A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
Fatal attraction is holding me fast how
can I escape this irresistible grasp?
