Walk Like an Egyptian - The Bangles

It seems to be the pattern of things as the overnight temperature reached double figures for the first time this year on Friday night (+11C), so came the heavy and persistent rain! Undefeated, we had happenings of Thursday to lean on which we have embellished with a few images of Moth Larvae, to coincide, from the depths of the archive - Bizarre Stuff!

All First's for the Year
and maybe foremost our first Hawk Moth
POPLAR HAWK-MOTH
followed in quick succession
by
PEBBLE PROMINENT
and
FLAME SHOULDER
Of the also ran's a minute
BLACK-HEADED CARDINAL BEETLE
MOORHEN
Parent and Youngsters
appear to be thriving!
Additionally, on the Gravel Pit the pair of
TUFTED DUCKs
pair preening
female
preening
male
roll preening have been joined by a pair of far less common
GADWALL
in the first instance trying to hide
male
and
female.
While on the way to the Heath we encountered
another of Eddie Stobarts Harem which may well be the last?
We have been reliably (yet to be seen) informed that the company has been sold, all lorries destined for a change of livery with no further Ladies - we hope not!
On the Heath
we caught just limited views of a before not seen aircraft a
AURINGNY
of
GURNSEY AIRLINES
while on the ground another stranger an
EMBRAER BANDEIRANTE
of
Business Air Travel
Not surprisingly
another
WHEATEAR
along with a vocal
WHITETHROAT
along with
STONECHAT
likely feeding young while this most obliging
LINNET
landed right before us.
Continuing activity at
Bournemouth International Airport
before we paid the
FRENCH ALPINE GOAT
a visit prior to our final destination the
MOORS RIVER
where the
tree nesting
EGYPTIAN GEESE
are back
looking like with some
Serious Intent?
PS - We are still struggling with the Away Day Posts, too many distractions, but
'Good Things Come to Those Who Wait'!
It will be worth it - "over and out".
