Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting - Elton John

That's as maybe, but it weren't much cop fer Moths!
Again perfect whether conditions, the Forecaster having said
"today will be Muggy followed by Tueggy, Weggy, Thurggy and Friggy"
(and other Spike Milligan quips)
but the fact of the matter was just a single addition to the Year List.
With nothing of interest on the home ground we reached the Heath just as that
fine, get you wet quick drizzle, started but deploying the umbrellas we remained dry as a chip!
As the name suggests this is the best place to find such an Insect as
 HEATH RUSTIC
in such surroundings.
Luckily, but only to those who have caught onto a nice bit of
Lepidopterology
we do have a bit of a backlog1
 PALE MOTTLED WILLOW
JULY BELLE
 along with
BULRUSH WAINSCOT
There also appeared to be the
Annual General Meeting
of the
PINE HAWK-MOTH SOCIETY
along with a cluster of other oddities which we always fine of great interest
but often have to lean on the expertees of Messrs
Harris, Foot, Gifford and Sterling
learned gentlemen all!
Now harking back to the recent comments on the downturn of Wildlife
and the hopes of observing at least a trickle of
Migrant Bird Activity
before the ink was even dry on that post we had a tickle or two.
First up was this female
 WHEATEAR
which by looking at her plumage
looks as though
she hasn't been out of the
egg very long?
A brief interval to turn the
Reptile Covers
where all that was found was this single
SMOOTH SNAKE
and this
ANTS NEST
a department that hasn't produced at all well this year!
This was followed by yet another wave of
 SWALLOWs
 both adult and
 juvenile
until this little beauty pitched in as well
 a very smart
 juvenile
SAND MARTIN
(but only the single)
there were video clips associated with these Hirundines
but where they have gone remains a mystery.
Additionally there was
One for Sorrow, Two for Joy, Three for a Girl and Four for a Boy
MAGPIE
(seems we will have to wait for Silver, Gold and the untold Secret)
and finally the job is comleted
just 3 days and the Tugwell Team had all 5
Solar Panel Compounds
cropped of Nettles and Grass which along with other debris can at times
account for a 20% loss in production!
Nice Clear Lanes
Having been in the Oil Industry for a number of years and familiar with the
knock on that goes with lost production!
You Don't Want to Go There!
and penultimately, once again Weymouth's 'Bomber' Harris has been stealing the show
with all sorts of goodies which includes
Dorset's First
 CRYPTIC FERN
 a scarce
GYPSY MOTH
and the wondeful migrant that is
CLOUDED YELLOW BUTTERFLY
We kicked off with Spike so only courtious, to one of Great Britains finest wits,
that we should also conclude with him and his rendition of
John Masefields - Sea Fever
"I must go down to the sea again, to the loanly sea and the sky.
I left my socks and knickers there, I wonder if they're dry?
