I'm a King Bee - Slim Harpo

As that Blues Legend used to croon,
"Buzz a while - Sting a bit"
ABYSMAL
About the only word that comes close to giving an accurate account from the
Moth Traps!

However, with yesterday’s temperature peaking at +32°C and a steady+18°C
things bode well for today’s catch?? We will see!
Rounderbouts and Swings we know but 61 individual macro moths to a
total of 24 Species in High Summer, well quite frankly never seen the likes of it before!
Best from each of the 2 locations
 WHITE-POINT
and
 LARGE EMERALD
now being caught in 3 and 4's.
Sticking with the theme there were a couple of other Insects in,
or close to the traps, with
Damage Limitation
out of reach for this hapless
 RED ADMIRAL
only to willing to spend what may have been its last moments on film!
There was also a far more pristine looking
COMMA BUTTERFLY
caught inside the awning of next doors caravan but once calmed
posing and willingly showing the 'punctuation mark' that gives it the name!
Before heading north we did take time to capture this
 Unidentified
 SPIDER
teasing an equaly unknown
'prey species'!
On the way to the Heath it was found that a number
Dragon and Damselflies
had moved onto both ponds including

 AZURE DAMSELFLY
RED-EYED DAMSELFLY
a reminder that the
GREY HERON
is still lurking, within ear-shot of a Willow Warbler, with
 BROWN HAWKER
 FOUR-SPOTTED CHASER
and
KEELED SKIMMER
bringing up the rear guard.
Within the Solar Panel Compound bird life has been at a premium
so anything was better that nothing including a few
STARLING

occasionally fraternising with the local
MEADOW PIPITs
On the Heath just a single
 WHITETHROAT
was reluctant to hang about as this 'blink and you'll miss it' clip shows
but other Warblers were on hand.
Nothing more exciting than a few each of

 CHIFFCHAFF
 between bouts of

rapidly ripening
WILLOW WARBLER
and
BLACKBERRIES
After perusing a full muster of the now 'local'
AIRBUS's
unusual as one or the other is usually buzzing to or from China,
even had we not been given a 'heads-up' the
Best would surely have been saved until Last.
An E-mail from a gentleman I do not know, informed me that he had
gained permission to site a
BEEHIVE
here which for my money is most welcome. Having little or no knowledge of the practice
looks like a learning curve might be on the way
(a bit wobbly)
and there seemed to be only a few Insects but that will hopefully rectify itself from wild stock??
Also of note, my senior apprentice Chloe is also a practicing
APIARIST
we feel a meeting coming on!
