Rescue Me - Fontella Bass

What is effectively my final day in Suriname, driving through the suburbs we came across a bizarre moment, needing a rescue package, when this
 THREE-TOED SLOTH
decided to take a wander across the main road.
Farouk our driver was quick to come to a halt,
but by then the beast was trying to 'hitch' a lift.

I managed to coax it back to the grass verge with the toe of my boot,

but foremost in my mind on such occasions is the prospect of Rabies.
Having caused something of a major traffic jam,
this lady produce a crow-bar and teased the Sloth

back into the jungle, but it was reluctant to give up the bar!
Last we saw, it was fair swinging through the tall grass
hopefully to be safe and sound.
Back to, compared with my accommodation (on land) thus far, a degree
of opulence at the 'well appointed'
ECO RESORT HOTEL

and these 2 lovely ladies who have looked after me very well.
The view from the back of the hotel across the Suriname River.
A chance now to ponder and what better way
than in the shade of the al fresco restaurant overlooking
