What a fantastic way to end the month of May and to begin the Alaskan Adventure by welcoming Afghanistan to the readership as the 140th country to be involved. This is shown on the Stat Counter by a 'blank' column, and I can only think that this referes to our brave troops out there. It was only recently that the son of a dear friend of mine sent the link to our forces, so if this is the case I'd like to extend a 'very warm welcome', a wish that you all stay safe and pass on the link to all our boys and girls so gallantly serving our country. Thank You ALL!
This months change of header photograph is not simply of a beautiful bird, it is also 'topical'. The image was captured in the garden of the family Leake who live in Toad River, Central Yukon Territory, a location I hope to visit later in the month, or early July.
So, here we are at last and that's me on the way to Heathrow Airport. Full English breakfast at The Swan pub, 4 hours on the National Express Coach and take-off sheduled for 16:20 this afternoon. With 8 hours in flight to Washington DC there is a 2hour 35minute stop over before continuing to Los Angeles that should take a further 5hrs 40mins. Arriving there soon after mid-night it is hoped for a couple of hours kip and if luck is with me I hope to get another flight to Hawaii with no preference of which island or airport - 'CHEAP' will be the by-word!
It should be noted that there may be delays in Posting due to multiple 'time zone' changes, and availability of 'Internet Access' over the next couple of days. Computer time will remain on BST!
Before setting off I shared an excellent supper (and more than one bottle of wine) with Bowie and & Sheila and only wish I had the photos to show you. Bowie says he will get them to me 'post haste' but feel I may not live that long. Thanks both of you, and I know we'll miss each other. XX

Before leaving, the Dorset Magazine arrived containing a double page spread of some of my photographs of the last year. Can't say I'm not chuffed about this, as I was contacted by the Editor Helen Stiles some time ago with a proposal to publish this and rather thought the idea had fallen by the way-side, but here it is for all to see.
