As the last of the 3 Friends Trilogy and after the Wildlife of Sri Lanka
we give you some scenes of the same trip where, fortuitously, Hugh, Janet and I met for the first time
10 YEARS AGO!
The darker the skin, seemingly the whiter the shirts!

TEA PLANTATION
The most harrowing part of our journey was to view the
destruction left by the Tsunami just 2 years previously.
What was even harder to swallow was the little that had been done to rectify matters.
Some such as those resident at
HABARADUWA BEACH
had mostly escaped the full force while just a little further on
things were very different
whole communities devastated,
while some building work was going on.
GALLE FORT

CLIFF DIVERS
LIGHTHOUSE
and
TUK-TUKS
FISHERMEN
who had lost their boats were still reduced to shooting industrial size nets
from small boats then hauling them by hand.
