The Weekend - Part II

 To sew up the remainder of the weekend wth Dave, which mostly featured Moths, we also have a few oustanding images from last week which should fit nicely into a fairly comprehensive post.

This deminutive and beautifully marked specimen is a
RED-TIPPED CLEARWING

not caught in the convential moth traps but lured by a pheromon suspended in a little casing of its own, proving most successful during daylight hours. Otherwise, overnight we secure First's for the Year which included the also tiny

PINION-STREAKED SNOUT
what likely constitutes my own personal favourite of the genere, the exquisite

CLOUDED BUFF

but watch this space as my mind could easily change tomorrow.

Of the avians the only outstanding find was an in-flight and calling

while amid that small catchment of bushes at the root of

on the Chicken Shack heralded the day with the weather still holding and some average success at the MothTraps. New for 2021 were........

and staying with plant life the

have also burst into bloom, while sadly still the

remain unattended we unfortunately not having the licece to delve within.
In the main Solar Panel Compoune the recently shorn

look to be catching a Sun Tan which just about brought our wander to an end.

was something of a Moth Fest with far too many for one Post so we will eke them out.

was undoubtedly the Best among a fair size Bunch as not only a First for Year but also the first we have ever caught which is second only to the

cut a welcome distraction across the clear blue sky.

another great favourite among our 6-legged friends is the most striking

but unfortunately find the video clip of one being predated by a Spider would not glue onto the page.

was recorded and most welcome a the species has kept a very low profile this year, while both

at Windsor and Cornwall alike as a
