Up, Up and Away - 5th Dimention Part II

RED ARROWS

The second and final day of the Bournemouth Air Festival came as something of a 'damp squib' perhaps because it was simply a re-run of the previous day, but maybe subdued by the

AIRCRASH
all to close to the Chain Link Ferry at Sandbanks little more than 5 miles to the south of here!

From the following news report it was considered it might have been much worse had it not been for the superb skills of the pilot, who got out unscather, as did the 'wing-walker'. In all of that we can only bring you what we witnessed which was noisy enough if not eye-catching!

Again we have little or no idea at what was on view
but can promise
a far better comentry at next year's
SUBMARINE FESTIVAL
CHINOOK??
MERLIN?
Not the Same Wing-Walker
(watch those cables)
SPITFIRE
or
mist bound
HURICANE?
While the Commercial
Ladies and Gentlemen carried on as usual.
Another Egg Whisk
AEROBATICS
TEAM
and
A Final Salute From 'Red One'.

I'm on a roll, I'm on a roll, this time,
I feel my luck could change.

Kill me Sarah, kill me again with love,

it's gonna be a glorious day.

Pull me out of the air crash.
Pull me out of the lake.
'Cause I'm your superhero,
we are standing on the edge!

Up - Up and AWAY - The 5th Dimention

First, and for some years, it was On, then it was Off and then along came Covid but happy to say it is now back On in 2021,

that is while we'd rather be here at home with a Grandstand Seat
than among the throng on
Bournemouth Beach!
Being an ex-Submariner the knowledge of such things is beyond me, but while having no idea of what we were looking at the spectacle was well worth the time. So, with few captions what we have seen thus far.
The
RED ARROWs
coming in to land without even having to move our position.
Putting hundreds od Starlings to flight.
High Flying Display Team
HURRICANE or SPITFIRE??
This Post is dedicated to
Flight Leiutenant
Jon Egging
who lost his life almost within sight of this property 10 years ago, our thoughts are with his family!

Common People - Pulp

 With the now famous

RUGBY TORNAMENT
having finished a week ago we find ourselves just a little behind with the Posts, but who would know the differance? From hearsay, a fantastic gig (no more than 1,000 yards from the doorstep) all round with huge attendance, graet sportsmanship and wall to wall loud music.
Had it been any different we may have considered a complaint but as a veteran of the very first Bath Blues Festival (where unbeknown to anyone then the full pack of what were to emerge as Fleetwood Mac were playing in one band or another) c3 visits to Reading and of course the prize of them all,
the first Isle of Wight with my all time hero Jimi Hendrix performing, who is in a position to moan first!
With a
GARGANEY
in prospect at
LONGHAM LAKES
if we could force a furrow through the traffic we might also have brought a little more difference to the Posts which simply just didn't happen!
BLACK-HEADED GULL
haven't returned to our Patch quite yet and it will be a lot longer wait if we are to get a
WIGEON
at all and a miracle should a
GREAT CESTED GREBE
(the other of the pair)
should land here let alone breed.
TUFTED DUCK
absent since early Spring should return while
LITTLE EGRET
have appeared sporadically
throughout the 'warmer' months. As has been shown, and will be again,
CYGNETs
have been represented here and while on the subject of the 'young', oh but enough about me,
juvenile
GREAT CRESTED
would be welcome at any time.
Further up the lakes, Chiffchaff, Cetti's Warbler and Willow Warbler continue in song without showing themselves, while
RED ADMIRALs
add a real splsh of colour.
Across the adjoining Water Meadows the young
CATTLE
are reaping the benifits of this lush area while
CORMORANT
and juvenile
HERRING GULL
seemed content just passing time in the Sun!
