Whisky In The Jar - Thin Lizzy

Yesterday was very much a day to forget and fortunately not the kind that befalls me often. A pleasant enough start with lunch with Lesley then the train Weymouth to Bristol Temple Meads departing right on time, but totally unaware that things wouldn't run smoothly for the rest of the day. Maiden Newton, just a few miles north of Dorchester, and the train ground to a halt and stayed for a full 15 minutes which was the pattern all the way to our destination arriving 20 minutes late. I had already calculated a fine time line so to catch up hailed a cab at £26 to the airport where we arrived 15 minutes before the gate closed. I needn't have bothered as there was a delay of 1 hour, followed by a further 4 hours due to 'fog' blanketing Cork, Republic of Ireland. Taking to the air 5 and a half hours late, there was to be another surprise, a diversion to Kerry a full 100Km from the intended destination. Texts had been flying with those received all originating from a music bar and grill in the heart of Cork, from 4 mates now well into their 5 or 6th Murphy's. A coach awaited our arrival and quickly drove us from Kerry to Cork where the driver was only duty bound to stop at the airport, but beyond the call of duty dropped me outside of my hotel in the centre - it was now 03:40 - yawn!
As I was going' over the Cork and Kerry mountains
I saw Captain Farrell and his money he was counting
I first produced my pistol and I then produced my rapier
I said stand and deliver or the devil he may take ya
Musha ring dum a do dum a da.
Whack for my daddy-o,
Whack for my daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar-o
Already well past the Witching Hour, there will be little time for text save to say that I met up with the lads (4) at breakfast and spent the day in Cohb (Cove) the last berth of the might Titanic. The pictures should tell the story.
