 A decent overnight temperature along with a noticeable early morning drop in wind speed, there were no 'new' Moths in the traps, but nevertheless an eclectic mix of other Insects! The wind had done its worse before daybreak leaving one of the

WELLINGTONIA TREES
denuded!

The first of these was not in the trap at all, but clinging on doggedly to the collar, but at least a Moth

the delightfully marked and ever welcome
MERVIELLE du JOUR

followed by a

16-SPOT CREAM LADYBIRD

and pristine

FLOUNCED CHESTNUT

Following in quick succession were a

female

DARK BUSH CRICKET

a lateish so maybe the last of the year

BROAD-BORDERED YELLOW UNDERWING
which as ever was reluctant to show the yellow bits,

COMMON SHINY WOODLOUSE
and even the Micro

HYPSOPYGIA GLAUCINALIS
we don't do Micros!
Otherwise, across the Recording Area things were 'thin on the ground' and had it not been for more

ESCAPED LIVESTOCK

from, we know not where, there would be little else to cackle about so maybe time for a long overdue visit to see our dear friend and Apprentice Moth'er
