Bird of Prey - Uriah Heep

As the night of Tuesday the 1st of February constituted the first Mothing Opportunity of the Month it would seem that we cracked it under another interesting early morning

SKYSCAPE
along with a First For Year and by definition Month
HEBREW CHARACTER
along with a considered different species to the last of
ICHNEAUMAN WASP
while what passes for a Dawn Chorus wass predominated by
SONG THRUSH

which didn't linger for a vidio opportunity, while in the wider world first found were c2 new

CATTLE
at distance on the
SATALITE SECTION of HEATH
CATTLE

which at distance, certainly a Bull, until its curiosity brought it closer and an

UDDER
was spotted, and with the second thought to be an
OLD ENGLISH WHITE
but in the certainty that it won't be long before we know for sure, we have some great people around us! The new puddle also came up with a new species a
PIED WAGTAIL
joining the already established Grey Wagtail
a patch where food appears to be plentiful and expectations becoming high regarding other visitors.
Another 'singing' Little Grebe was found, but not filmed, on the Irrigation Pond while on approach to the Gravel Pit we had a rough idea of what these
MAGPIES
were up to as the top one was
soon shown the door, and while the female
SHOVELER
have been absent this one returned and followed by a bevy of
Sub-Adult
MUTE SWANs
not seen here before, while the
COOT
had come out of hiding today fratenising with a female Gadwall.
All of interest within the Solar Panel Compound was a single
MISTLE THRUSH
Watching the antics of BLUE TIT and
GREAT TITs (lower)
at the Sewerage Works Gate brought great delight until mass alarm calls shattered the silence as in swooped this extremely dapper
and seemingly small
male
SPARROWHAWK
missing all of the prey species
before parking itself
no more than 30 feet in front of me (not moving a muscle)
while sat in the comfort of the
Mobile Bird Hide
we would like to show more but time ticks on - manana!
 Finally, how's this for SPOOKY??
Saying au revoir to my friends Carlos from Portugal and Russian ladyfriend Luba they handed me a fairwell gift of a bottle of
RAMON BILBAO
produced by and at his father's vinyard in their homeland and knowing my penchant for Fine Wine before heading off for a well earned visit to mainland Europe, the photo was taken for posterity. Within 12 hours this image of my all time hero
JIMI HENDRIX
asking if I had seen it before. Not certain, it was best to lean on the side of 'not seen', but a double wammy of James Marshal Hendrix - Thanks again Bomber and Thank You One and All!
