Perimeter Walk - Marillion

With a justified threat of torrential rain all Field Work was confined to the early morning period starting with almost a 'blank' in the Moth Trap in Secret's garden. c3 Lunar Underwing and singles of Black Rustic and Feathered Ranuculus was all unless you'd like to include the 200+ Craneflies. Back at the Observatory they had faired much better with the 7th and 8th 

 EGYPTIAN BOLWORM (Moth)

 for Great Britain, an extremely 'rare' creature!

yesterday, from elsewhere on the Island, things were going well despite the weather.These photos are borrowed from Wiki to highlight the stunning beauty of this scarce and tiny Insect.

Over on LODMOOR the clouds were gathering, but we
predicted there would just be time for one Perimeter Walk.

This GREY HERON landed directly in front of us

while MAGPIE

seemed to be the most numerous Corvid today,

and talking of numbers GADWALL seemed to outnumber
all other Ducks.

HONEYSUCKLE
was seen before the key birds of the walk were located

not too far away.

It was thought this series of 'action' shots would be appreciated
by the reader.
