When the decision was made recently to return to a 'daily' Posting the key concern was, given the time of year, would we be able to gather enough material to sustain the ambition? While appreciating there has been and will be some repetition (2,000 acres only supports X amounts of Wildlife) we now find ourselves bogged down and falling behind with such incidentals as Field Notes, Image Editing, List Compiling etc, so any ideas of publishing our findings chronologically have 'gone to the wall'. Over the weekend the Bournemouth Air Festival continued sporadically, a number of Wildlife forays ensued while we also enjoyed a visit by the Brothers Foot (or should that be Feet), which was sadly cut short by the prospects of even more heavy rain, which proved a wise choice.

While a warm, comfortable bed had been proffered at
Harbins Farm House
Our guests opted to camp in tents on the edge of Merritown Heath and by 05:30 (Saturday that is) they had gathered in most of the equipment, including the Moth Traps, and were already enjoying a cup of coffee. Having requested an overnight bird report they were happy to confirm a good number of Nightjar still on the wing, but a total absence of Woodcock. Just a 'taster' of the Moth species caught overnight included a representative of the dramatic

as the lone Micro
and for other 6-legged creatures

all those titled in BLUE are additions to the
Year List.
As this was his first visit, Mike particularly was interested in a closer look
across the Heath where we found very good numbers of
DARTFORD WARBLER
along with just a couple of
STONECHAT
Also keen to 'turn' some of the Reptile Covers we first found these most interesting
and sharply contrasting colour variations of
SLOW WORM
and this
SMOOTH SNAKE
which comes with a 'Colorful Language Warning'
While no names mean no pack-drills it must be said
"it wasn't me Sir" in fact it was a Big Boy who said it then quickly ran away
wasn't it Mike??
and so to the

or at least what little there was of it!
Again dogged by bad weather at least some aircraft took to the skies,
and while my knowledge of such things is less than limited there will be
no attempt to 'CAPTION' any of the following images save for the obvious.

there are some restrictions on the roadside grass verges.
