Wild Weekend - The Rebels (1963) - Part I

It seems to have been a while since the start of the weekend but we have our act together now and can bring you the full story in 3 Parts. Having savoured the Moths and the Trap Experiment we went on to aimless wandreing and with

DAVE
getting down to business right away with ears to the ground
and eyes to the sky we were
not about to miss much!
First Up
something of a mini masterclasswith
juvenile and still nest bound
CARRION CROWs
(all c3)
as I for one had no idea that thier gapes were
Red and White elsewhere.
A moment of
Moth Trap Husbandry
readying the traps for the night to come.
A most welcome Blue Sky with just a trace of Cirus Cloud making it almost qualifying as
Mackerel
and a new flush of
DANDILIONs
providing some contrast.
It would have been impossible to pass the Reptile covers by
but without
Snake or Lizard we did uncover a lone
WOOD MOUSE.
Plant Life has now started to Pedominale with
STONECROP
SHEEP SORREL
in large patches and at long last
signs of green on the
ASPENs
c2 additions to the Recording Area at the same time but at such a distance only just seen by myself
RED KITE
and seperated by what is believd to be a cultivar
GRANNY'S BONNET
COMMON SWIFT
(both additions highlighted by borrowed images)
To bring this instalment to an end there were also
new growth
OAK APPLEs
a tribe of very active
RED ANTS
and finally some showing of
BIRDSFOOT TREFOIL
