There's Good & Bad and Mum & Dad

and everyone's happy to be here, we've got some IN, we've got some OUT, we've got some Wild Things floating about!

Willow Farm from the Genesis album - Foxtrot

The Good Element started at 03:00 as part of a dream when we seemed to have been hearing bird-song and mustering on the doorstep, plain as day, there was a

CETTI'S WARBLER
singing for the first time this year along our beat of the
River Stour
Still vocal at first light (or maybe that should be lack of light) came the Element of Bad finding

that one of the Mercury Vapour Lamps had popped
but with a few spares on hand the problem was quickly rectified!
Another first for the year, so consider we are doing well with the lamps, as it seemed not to have effected the overnight catch either, with the best of the collective from all 4 units producing
LEAST BLACK ARCHES
SNOUT
The amazingly
EYE-CATCHING
CREAM-SPOT TIGER
along with one of (if not 'the') smallest British Macro Moths (there are contenders)
CHINESE CHARACTER
Starting out on the rest of the days adventure it sounded every bit as if this
REED WARBLER
(not at all usual on the Main Pond)
was trying to out-do the Cetti's but all contributions most welcome!
Very little else to report from across the property with the best being the arrival of a new
COOT CHICK
being attended to by the only visible adult at the
Irrigation Pond
with a
suspected returning pair of
TUFTED DUCK
at the
Gravel Pit.
