With Hugh and Janet safely back from their more than successful
visit to Western Parts of the
United States of America
my duties as Chicken George and Strawberry Fair
have been reduced to the latter only. As the first Moth Trap monitored each morning
is close to the raised fruit bed, there seemed little point in one pressed man, Hugh,
doing the job when there is one perfectly willing volunteer!
FOREVER
Among the best Macro Moth haul of the year thus far,
257 Insects x 58 different Species, there were these New For the Year.

FOREVER
Among the best Macro Moth haul of the year thus far,
257 Insects x 58 different Species, there were these New For the Year.
The rest of the day included a fairly wide range of Wildlife sightings,
starting with a male and female
BULLFINCH
which have been heard on a number of occasions
but not seen for a number of weeks likely due to their
secretive breeding traits?
FIELD POPPY
now springing up all over the place as is
HONEYSUCKLE
Considered lucky to find at this time of year, as highlighted by its absence
in the June column of the Recording Area Bird List,
GREY WAGTAIL
have not been conclusively proven to breed on the property,
while both the Stable Yard and Sewerage are conducive with this.
A 'pair' were found at the latter location as part of a prompt from
Alan and Margaret a couple occasionally met during my rounds.
FOXGLOVE
particularly those in woody glades are looking
magnificent
and those BEES love them.
Another addition to the June list is something of a 'rarity' here
but visit just about any city center in the World and you will find them.
The humble and much overlooked
FERAL PIGEON
this being the only image we hold!
Next we would have to carry out a wider search, unless we got really lucky,
to find and observe all is well with the new born
BELTED GALLOWAY CALF
which is now just one week old and already sporting
the new 'ear adornment' which is a
Legal Requirement.
Otherwise, there just a series of Bits and Bobs which started
just before entering the Heath.
Please give us Hay Fever suffers a thought when you look at this
