Out of the Shadows - Iron Maiden

In just a few days time The Bagsy Blog will reach something of a milestone in it existence, with that day also forming a crossroad and a dilemma for us here. At that time we must decide whether to continue publication or not? What has brought us to this juncture is twofold, with one effect sustaining the other, Repetitiveness seemingly leading to an unprecedented Decline in Readership. For many years after its inception our Local Patch, so to speak, was The Whole World but in latter days it has become no more than 2000 acres (809 hectares), but nevertheless of interest to those who visit us on a regular basis. Before we make that final decision we are going to appeal to those few Loyal Readers to stimulate interest in others. For our part we have already handed out hundreds of cards to people that we meet, have issued 'all addressees' E-mails and in a much smaller way have ventured to use Facebook, Posting to everyone who comes onto our Radar

We would ask you to consider doing similarly!
There has to be an incentive and that incentive is you.
OUR FATE IS NOW PARTIALLY IN YOUR HANDS
AND WE THANK YOU IN ANTICIPATION!
To end the seemingly endless May Day Saga here are a few images
of some of those that might have 'made the cut' but for whatever reason didn't.
They only needed to come
Out of the Shadows - Link
from another of my all-time favourite albums
A Matter of Life and Death
Hold a Halo round the World golden is the day,
Princess of the Universe your burden is the way.
So there is no better time, who will be born today,
A Gypsy child at daybreak a King for a day.
Out of the Shadows and into the Sun,
Dreams of the past as the old ways are done.
Out there is beauty and surely there is pain,
But we must endure it to live again.
COMMON SNIPE
continued to be on site right up to the day before.
CUCKOO
well we were listening out but.......
there was one photographed yesterday!
DARTFORD WARBLER
now there's a thing, we see or hear these Little Beauties just about
every day of our lives, then on the crucial day????
GREY HERON
not uncommon on our patch, in fact saw 2 on that day while we BLANKED.
HOBBY
again had started to appear daily but not on that daily.
LITTLE RINGED PLOVER
Had there been a Bookies in the area what odds would we have got
on not seeing one of these?
REDSTART
These images were taken the day before of our
First Spring Record.
LESSER WHITETHROAT
already holding 'territory' in the southern half of the Recording Area.
LITTLE EGRET
Now becoming a little more sporadic but we had lived in hope.
LITTLE OWL
Now here we are Clutching at Straws a fine album by
MARILLION.
NUTHATCH
'Daily' before and 'Daily' since!

TREECREEPER

Ditto when the wind is in the right direction,
and then came the night and along with it a cool breeze, overcast sky
and drizzel which doubtless put off the
SHORT-EARED OWL
which has been resident throughout the Winter and Early Spring
and hardly ever missed when making our frequent evening sorties.
TAWNY OWL
and the same applies, the evening before there were
at least c4 vocal birds but on the 1st NONE
and finally an almost unbelievable
 RED-LEGGED PARTRIDGE
put in an appearance on the Heath, the 'first' we have ever recorded there
but not seen since.
