It's the Woody Wood Pecker's Song

With the Weatherman declaring a possibility of an 80% chance of rain at dawn the only options were turning over for another hour or getting on with the traps before it did start! Just as well as we saw an increase in Species on the prevous day, from 56 to62, but a drop in the overall total from 380 to 302. Additionally, there was another Magical Figure of no fewer than 135

SNOUTs
in addition to a couple new species for the year
BORDERED WHITE,
usually reluctant to spread their wing, along with
GREEN PUG
Otherwise the duty of Gate Keeper at the first compound fell to this obliging
SONG THRUSH
not as the name suggests in good voice
but willing to pose for Click and Vid as another conundrum was solved.
For a number of days now we have not been able to get our head around a familiar bird song when all of a sudden it dawned that they are
WOODLARK
both adult
and not long out of the nest.
Maybe for 'kindness sake' perhaps we could just call this a
Senior Moment?
Something of a disaster at the next compound where we found that the Shepherdess had stollen her hurdles back, which were defending the Moth Trap there from the Sheep, so had to spend time finding a substitute.
This time we did ask if we could have the Pallets provided by the
FENCING CENTRE
We have since recived the contract to rebuild the Taj Mahal.
Across both Northerly Pond nothing 'living' was found save for a covering of
ALGAE
while more
CANADA GEESE
transited the grey sky in sillouette.
Another fine looking Hog at the afore mentined Centre this time a
HARLEY DAVIDSON
while it looks every bit as if the
MUTE SWANs
have wrapped thier flipper's in as reguards raising a family?
On arrival back at Base there was not even time to switch the kettle on before
sneaking up on these
GREEN WOODPECKERs
