had carried me to Bangkok from where it was the full length of
Peninsula Thailand
and crossing the border intoMalasia at Su-ngi Ko Lok but that was not all.
Venturing into the nifty little tavern just outside the Bus Station I was soon in the company
of 2 Police Officers, followed shortly by the Chief of Police himself who
treated us all to a sumptuous lunch!
Just one of those Magical Moments in time!
My only regret about travelling the full length of Malasia was that
Fraser Hill, one of the countries 'hottest' bird watching locations,
was by-passed for no real reason - but surely there would be another day?
THERE WAS!
Singapore, just across another border was an absolute MUST as having
heard so much about it from various Shipmates when it was a
stratigic port for the country and the
Royal Navy
(gone are the days).

after 2 weeks 'birding' in Colombia before heading for a guided week,
which turned into 10 days in Venezuela before transiting Ecuador (including a week on Galapagos)
then the full length of Peru, part of Chile and even a jaunt into the Andes,
which we all know can be found at the end of our Arm-ies.
Having decided on a few quiet days in the sea-side town of
La Plata, Argentina just 60Km south of the capital
Buenos Aires
there was no accounting for being befriended by a
