Viva la Compagnie - John Leavitt

We doubt it will be long now before we reach for the scrubbing brush and cable drums to clean the Mothing Equipment prior to stowing it away for the winter. By and large it has been a very good season, details of which we hope to be able to bring to you later. The lingerers have included
 ANGLE SHADES
 and the migrant
SILVER Y
but something completely new to us was this
LEMON SLUG
patrolling around the rim of one of the traps
WHITE DEAD NETTLE
still in bloom close by as the now regular
LOCKHEED ATLAS
droned overhead.
There was little more than this single
 BLACK-HEADED GULL
at the
Irrigation Pond
but a young
 FOX
 GREATER BINDWEED
 a
DUNNOCK
 and still in flower
GREEN ALKANET
redressed the balance somewhat.
Later at the Gravel Pit a
TUFTED DUCK
was found in company with a
MALLARD
with both being joined later by one of the resident juvenile
MOORHEN
Just a brief visit to the back of the
 Eco Recycling Works
to view the ongoing extension of the plant did throw up a
Green Sandpiper
which escaped the lens.
A little less mobile so easier to capture there were a stand of
SPEAR THISTLE
 and later a most colourful
FIELD MAPLE
On the way back to Slight Return II
a fortuitous meeting with a number of members of the newly installed
SOLAR PANEL FARM
MANAGEMENT TEAM
fortuitous as it seems likely that the privilege of being able to enter
all and any of the compounds will continue to be extended to me!
