On the Wings of Love - Jeffrey Osborne

With the Stats jumping to a 'record breaking' 537 for yesterday
it can only be imagined that the delightful group of mostly young cyclists met yesterday
on the bridleway past on the link to their addressees. If that is so, we
Thank You Very Much
and request all other readers do likewise plese. Very much hope to bump into you again!
The prediction of rain at 06:00 was right on the nail and of that very fine,
get you wet quickly type, but gone was that niggling fresh breeze that has dogged
us in recent days. It seems the Black Art of forecasting is gone forever replaced by
a usually accurate and Precise Science?
Lots of stuff on the wing today - it ain't only Birds that fly!
Not ½ a bad start to the day either despite the temperature being
just +1°C above single figures at dawn, and the sky had looked good at
 ‘lighting up time’.
First's for the Year as far as Macro's wer concerned came in the form of
 STRAW UNDERWING
which is always reluctant to show its best feature,
it was along wait, along with a much prized
 DEVON CARPET
something of a 'rairity' and our first record

 and
SMALL WAINSCOT
which is annual.
It is always interesting to see what is left in the bottoms of the traps
after clearing the objects of our desire
DETRITUS
which is usually made up mostly of small Insect among other things.
As for the Aviators we had already seen a return of the
 ROYAL AIR FORCE
and
RYANAIR
now back in full swing.
Taking the east path through the woodland ride, there was at the end of it
something that rather flumoxed us so off went the images to John.
We could certainly be forgiven for thinking this was the work of
Arachnids
but informed that they are the webs of the
GORSE SPIDER MITE
John also went on to inform us that they are often used to control this
Invasive Plant.
The New Kids on the Block
 were represented by juvenile
 COAL TIT's
difficult to photograph let alone video
but we gave it our 'best shot'!
On leaving the Heath and noting just how rapidly the
Apples are Ripening
we found in exactly the same spot as the Great Spotted Woodpecker
feathers of last week those of similarly hapless
BLACKBIRD
Raynard is likely dining well?
Taking a final look at one of the
 BOMBARDIER GLOBAL AIRCRAFT
we were, in equal parts, bothe surprised and please to see a
SPITFIRE
totally unexpected!
At the Gravel Pit were were welcomed by a
 well progressed
 juvenile
BLACKBIRD
along with a now 'lone'
COOT
and a Willow Warbler providing the vocals if you listen closely.
The cultivar Rose Hips are also bulking up nicely there
and while the
GREENFINCH
have been attempting them the Bullfinches seem to be gorging themselve
within and without being seen.
The day also ended with the
Fly-Boys an / or Girls with a fly-by

CHINOOK
and another Pig's Ear of the
SUNWING
hoping we will get it right soon!
