Second Coming - The Stone Roses

With the 'First' having been the Canada Geese it was a foregone that the next would follow in quick succession but before introducing that we will glue the only item of interest from the Moth Traps to the Post a

SPOTTED CRANEFLY
(thnks John)

It was the rather ragged looking and now seemingly redundant

MOORHEN NEST
that drew our attention with tiny movements in the margins close by.
The parent birds were in fact tending
a minimum of c2 youngsters
with the other not at all interested in joining the
Canon Fest!
With nesting aforethought it was considered almost obligatory to check on the Avian residents within the Airport only to find at the first port of call the House Martin's still remain absent.
However the
ROOKs
made up for them in part as
as increasing the number of nests from last years 28 to 33 this and below the Rookery the first vestages of one form or another of a budding
EVENING PRIMROSE
we'll be back when in bloom.
On the other hand the Gulls don't really seem to have got going yet with just these c2
HERRING GULL
nests at a distance on the Hanger roofs.
Sticking with the theme, all that could be found through the mist at the
Gravel Pit
was this bathing
LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL
along with just our 4th
GREY HERON
of the year while the first
WOOD SPURGE
appears to be doing very well.
A quick peek from behind the bushes at Eco found nothing but the usual
MOUNTAINs
of wood-chips destined for Bio-Mass Boiler Power Generation.
Equaly devoid, uless we lend ourself to more repeats was the Heath from where we were able to
view
AIRBUS DHOBYING OPERATIONs
followed by another bout of
SPARRING
between the
RARE BREED GOATs
(Baggot's in both Cases)
Maybe fortuitous then that we have not updated the progress of the
MUTE SWANs
continuously sprucing up the Mess Deck,
now also having
8, yes
8 eggs - never seen anything like it!!
and a wayward
CANADA GOOSE
brought the day to an end!

Yesterday's Away Day proved to be SPECTACULAR but will take some time to tack together but being patient will be well worth it!
