Gold - Duran Duran

About the Best we could do at early light with the first

JUVENILE ROBIN
of the year but another small gathering of First for the Year Moths, but by comparison not quite so attractive as those in recent days.
By no means annual here
GOLD SWIFT
LESSER YELLOW UNDERWING
always more attractive when open winged but always reluctant.
KENT BLACK ARCHES
SMALL DOTTED BUFF
and
SALLOW KITTEN
Bringing up the also-rans we spent a bit of time among the local
HOUSE SPARROWs
which seem
not to have done half as well
(male with juvenile)
as in previous years but
at least they have procreated!
At Pond-Side the
CANADA GEESE
are looking more like Mum and Dad every day while it seems the Mute Swan family have dispursed to a new but unknown location.
To continue the juvenile theme
on the Gravel Pit we found a single young
MOORHEN
strangely gaping, but joy of joys next door on the almost impossible to view
Irrigation Pond
a well developed juvenile
LITTLE GREBE
being fed by
by a seemingly lone parent bird?
Adult Briefly
and
Quiet a find but nothing like previous years when 3 or 4 pairs have bred with double broods!
