A Day at the Races - Queen

By way of explanation for the selected 'headline' today I would just like to wish You and Yours a
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS
Typical of Hugh’s shrewd and inimitable way he thinks that gratitude to his staff is best shown by a Christmas Gift offered on the day and acted upon somewhere around about mid-July. The season being full of Turkey and Tinsel, Paper Hats and Parties does anyone really want another ‘bun-fight’ then? And when the weather is as it was yesterday, well what a gig! Last years outing you my remember was the Rugby game between Bath and Ospreys. Another sporting event and another return to the Beautiful City but this time to receive a
The day was self explanatory, so not a need for too many words.

on the scene.
Being a bit of an aficionado on the
 Sport of King's
 there was a Master Plan,
 but first a song!
As the Starting Gates were towed into place
and our 2 lovely Hostesses for the day prepared for dinner
the horse for the first race were paraded before the punter.
The Plan? very simple 10 quid each way on the rank outsider
and one or two of the blighters
 have GOT to be placed??
You don't get any further 'outside than No2 he didn't even want
to get into the stall. Good job there were only 9 runner or he might
have come 10th - one down a few to go.
Race 2, a CERTAINTY and to get my 20 'spot' back.
 Wot! Me Worried??
"Excuse me Sir would you like to follow us this way"
 Ah, No3
if you look really closely you may see him just rounding the
final bend, top right hand corner, while all the others were
approaching the final furlong.
A GREY, A GREY my Kingdom for a GREY!
OK - just 60 Quid DOWN
The TV Interviewer should have had a word with me
I had a Sob Story to tell him.

6th at this stage of the race
but surely he'll make up ground on the run-in?
 THIRD
brilliant a PLACE so a RETURN on my £20 outlay
Always having thought of myself as a WINNER
I was off to collect the Divi
£16????
There, only put £20 on and got that lot back - a WINNER all the way to the Bank!
 Only 54 Quid DOWN
a glass of red was needed and to 'sit this one out'

she and I dance the night away at Daryl and Cath's Wedding.
 It can be reported that
A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL
