Once again, due to the abysmal weather, flying over the weekend has been sporadic to say the least and any ideas of following the scheduled programme were likely abandoned as early as Friday. However, as is usual sat here on the cusp of the airport we once again enjoyed the best of it all. Agreed we are using a 500mm lens but fair to say that being so close none of the following images have needed cropping
Having little, or no, idea of Aircraft Identification
we also present them with the briefest of captions.
The pan set aside for Redundant Aircraft at the north end of the Airport
had been cleared in preparation for this weekends
Bournemouth International Air Show
except for the largest aircraft of them all which had been rigged with
a forward gangway and had all doors opened.
Was this to be used for some sort of logistical purpose??

flew in and was seen the following morning
stationed next to a
ROYAL NAVY HELICOPTER
Into the distance a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
A flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone my senses reeled
A fatal attraction holding me fast how
Can I escape this irresistible grasp?
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue tied and twisted just an earth bound misfit I
Early next morning it was on the wing again
this time accompanied by what were thought to be a
Hurricane and a Spitfire??
Ice is forming on the tips of my wings
Unheeded warnings I thought I thought of everything
No navigator to guide my way home
Unladened, empty and turned to stone
A soul in tension that's learning to fly
Condition grounded but determined to try
Can't keep my eyes from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I
In turn the Helicopter followed being chased by
85 year old 'Wing Walker'
Mrs Dawn Goodson
who returned my wave and in this image seen looking down at me!
My guess would be
SPITFIRE f'wd, HURRICANE aft?
HELICOPTERS??
A YANK
and an unknown Aerobatic Team
which did have the name on each underwing
BRING ON THE 'BIG BOYS'
Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, a state of bliss
Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I
THE RED ARROWS
took to the sky
in pods of 3 before quickly disappearing from view
to entertain the crowds on Bournemouth Beach,
