Something of a 'mile-stone' as far as the serious side of Bird Watching is concerned, as we start a new year, having been attracted to the persuit in 1972, some 50 years ago. Interest had been shown in former years but all for the wrong reasons, that of 'egg collecting' now a criminal offence, but as children we knew not what we did! Similarly attracted to the practice of 'twitching' either targeting a single species and travelling any distance to see it and to add it to a list or simply chasing as may species as possible, usually in a single day as often as not the first of the New Year, captivates me still but nowhere near so compeling. The 'TWITCH' of 2022, confined to our own local area, is presented over the coming days as a triptych! As ever the event started with short visits to the doorstep at mid-night, 02:00 and 04:00 in hopes of kicking things off with an Owl or 2, but unlike prevous years we were not to be at all lucky on that score.

With eyes and ears 'glued' we will simply show an image of each species recorded, in chronological order.
