White Wedding - Billy Idol

It was Wednesday 16th July when Laird Justin Johnston-Thomas was betrothed to the lovely Rachel but with so much going on in the interim we have only just got round to publishing a few shots of this GREAT day. The best of those days in between was Saturday (early morning to be precise) as overnight the rain, thunder and lightning had been of Biblical proportions raising worries that the Moth Traps would be flooded and void of Insects of any description. Should I have been concerned, NO! Having bought probably the finest (Dave Foot) constructions 05:00 proved to be quite to the contrary. New additions to the Parley Court Farm List include both
 SALTERN EAR
and
 BULRUSH WAINSCOT
while in the 'first appearance in 2014 department' we have
 MAGPIE
 LESSER BROAD-BORDERED YELLOW UNDERWING
 MARBLED GREEN

 DUSKY THORN
While those on both lists but are notable include
our 5th example of the 'migrant'
GEM
 EAR MOTH
and both male (left) and female
DRINKER
in the same trap. an occurrence not seen here before!
My Invitation arrived some weeks ago and very clearly stated
but as a 'rider' inside did say "maybe earlier for taking photos"
as I had agreed to do for the Happy Couple on a casual basis.
While I was only too happy to disappear during the
Reception part of the proceedings in true
Justin and Rachel
fashion I was cordially asked to stay and enjoy the Spit Roast Hog
and all else.

Great company along with some very interesting conversation. On their approach I offered a jaunty "good afternoon" and suggested they looked a little lie my favourite Goth band
 'Fields of the Nephilim'
Since discovering them about 10 years ago I have listened to their excitingly different slant on music, but none more so that the seminal album 'Elizium' (one of my Top 5 Albums of All Time) of which the track
is the backbone. Continuing our conversation, turns out that in a former guise, as a similar Goth outfit, these lads would occasionally 'open' for F o t N. Along with their 'black, desperado, western US' stage dress to give a more authentic 'we've just ridden the Western Plains' look they would dust each other in baking powder before taking the stage! - but I digress, there was also a further abundance of musicianship at the wedding.
Justin himself is a very accomplished Guitarist and Vocalist
while Rachel, as well as running a highly thought of Music School
in Bournemouth, is a multi-instrumentalist and Saxophonist for the 50's band
THE REGULAR JOES
We were treated to a couple of Sax Solos from
Rachel during the evening.
Like all good things, late into the night, the festivities came to an end.
I should take the opportunity to thank
Rachel and Justin
for the privilege of being at such an auspicious gathering.
BEST WISHES to you BOTH!
