Ladybird, Ladybird - Poem

The silence of dawn was interupted with a most welcome chorus of a

TAWNY OWL
vying for vocal supremacy over a far more welcome
LITTLE OWL
(neither of which were seen)
in as much as the latter has not been recorded here for what must surely be 12 month?
Still a little lacklustre otherwise, but nevertheless we have at least been able to get

Out and About where things are now a Bit Brighter.
We rather thought we were going to get away with it this year,
the plague that is of
Hundreds or maybe more realistically Thousands of
HARLEQUIN LADYBIRDS
which come in a large variety of colour variations and patternation
and love tumbling from the ceiling of
Slight Return II
and clinging to the white of the outside coating.
Yes, they have started appearing but later and in far fewer numbers than is usual. With the rain having abated (oh no that's tempting it) we did risk one Moth Trap to find quite a variety of other six-legged friends!
CARDINAL BEETLE
was followed by a short series of Moths which included nothing new
SATELLITE
DECEMBER MOTH
BLACK RUSTIC
along with
FRISKY FLIES
After the Goose Fare of some day's ago now our first find of the day further afield was that of c15
CANADA GEESE
all to wide spread across the Main Pond to all fit in the viewfinder.
With very little and nothing new between there and the Heath the
SKYSCAPE
had somewhat altered now looking quite threatening one again but contrasting beautifully with the
Autumnal Silver Birches
and then in quick succession 2 more unexpected Insects a confiding
RED ADMIRAL BUTTERFLY
and
PEACOCK BUTTERFLY
Of the latter, one of the Groundsmen had sent us a video clip from his mobile phone
which seem reluctant to allow us to glue such a thing to our posts.
and finally, what is considered a Giant of the Skies once again returned, the mighty
GLOBEMASTER
