Progreso, Mexico II

Latest addition to the readership are the
NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS
Located in the Northern Pacific Ocean, about 40 miles north north east of Guam, it makes you realise the power of the Internet spreading the word so far afield. A warm welcome is extended to our new readers and hope, should you enjoy the read, you will pass the link on to all your Family and Friends.
The rest of the day at XCAMBO was short lived as I needed to act on other information forwarded to me by Birding Pal Bev before returning to
PROGRESO and VOYAGER
Not sure whether Moth or Butterfly, but whichever very nice to see.
in the same way, so was
ALTAMIRA ORIOLE
and the 'endemic' MEXICAN WOODNYMPH
GROOVE-BILLED ANI
another Altamira Oriole
along with another addition to the 'trip list'
NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH

As usual 'dozens' of BLACK VULTURE were engaged in their endless quest for food.
TERMITE NEST
SNOWY EGRET
NEOTROPIC CORMORANT
GREAT EGRET
and TROPICAL KINGBIRD before stopping at the Tecnotel Beach Hotel as recommended by Bev.
Apart from GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE, both birds suggested by my Pal were seen starting with
c3 MEXICAN SHEARTAIL (E) and YUCATAN WREN
LIZARD
NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW
and closer to the ship there was time to scan the redundant salt pans finding more Double-crested Cormorant, and looking left of picture
an AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN trying to keep below the radar.
Many 100's of

 BLACK-NECKED STILT
a few BROWN PELICAN,
a mass of DOWITCHERs (Sp),
and BLUE-WINGED TEAL.
Finally, there was the drive along about 2 miles of jetty, better than walking,
which seemed endless.
Before boarding for a much needed cold drink a look among the assembled sea-birds, including

Royal and Sandwich (Cabot's) Tern
young and
adult Laughing Gull,

 Sandwich in flight,
Double-crested Cormorant
along with a 'sentinal' Brown Pelican.

In addition during the day COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, CINNAMON HUMMINGBIRD and TROPICAL PEWEE were also seen.
Trip List Total = 209        'Lifers' = 49
