What is destined to be a very poor day that started with a lack-lustre (LIVE) performance in Las Vegas by messrs Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, it is now pouring with rain as it has been most of the night. Good job we have a little news from the past couple of days to fall back on which is certainly better than a Blank Page - put your hand up the person who said "No It's Not", Oh, all of you!
Too early to say the Moth Traps are starting to warm up, but a couple of new entries for the Year.

It is not idea still having to top-up the puddles from the mains supply, but certainly better than no water at all as far as local Wildlife is concerned. The running end of the hose-pipe is permanently in the puddle but the tap is not far away so in all cases causes some disturbance. We have to pick our moment as with the recent Golden Plover and today's

  LAPWING

 which was absent when we turned on.

 Returning to the St-range Rover a quick glimpse and it was there,

 it didn't bathe

but as might be seen from the residual droplet on the bill, enjoyed a welcome drink.

With the shallow 'scrapes' already excavated, we now await

funding from

Silverstone Green Energy

for the membranes. There is little point putting more than a couple of gallons

in the depressions as the ground is so porous, it quickly seeps away.

There are an awful lot of Solar Panels to check here,

 in fact avenue after avenue of them, but you never know what may be found.

 These redundant Cable Drums already serve as nesting sites for at

least c2 pairs of
