Learning to Fly - Pink Floyd (Part II)

There was a 'priority' this morning beingthe 'first' of the month and all, but not before emptying the Moth Trap where the only Insect of note was our 22nd (separate and different) Old Lady Moth. From there it was a steady 'dash' to the
AVON CAUSEWAY
in an effort to add
EGYPTIAN GOOSE
to the Dorset, September List. A little 'sad' I hear you say but
far preferable to knocking about with 22 Old Ladies
 and we 'cracked it'!
The Bournemouth Air Festival
continued apace today and we did our best to capture as
much of it as posible.
Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night

As is traditional the
RED ARROWS
started proceedings, lurking on the tarmac, awaiting take-off,
like 9 Formulea One Racing Cars in similar livery.
RED ARROWS 'B' TEAM
carn't remember who this team are.
Don't Know
HAWKER HUNTER
Jonathon Whaley's stunning
 MISS DEMEANOUR

EUROFIGHTER
a few 'Close Encounters'
CHINOOK
SPITFIRE
A PASSER-BY

More SPITFIRES
The Lancaster looked a little like an AWAC as we just
caught the Wood Pigeon in the right spot.

METEOR
Hawker Hunter again
doing a 'Barrel Roll'
Not sure
SEA VIXEN or SEA VENOM type??
Not Known
The final Old Lady of the Day
LANCASTER BOMBER.
There's no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, a state of bliss
Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I
Finally, I thought it funny to add a little something to the Air Show poster which read
BOURNEMOUTH PROMANADE
The World Famous
RED ARROWS
DISPLAY TEAM
11-30 and 16-30
was it against the Law to add at the bottom
If raining in the Town Hall!

  1. Hi Paul, not Sea Vix or Sea Ven, it is a Vampire formerly of the RAF rather than the Senior Service.{:))
The one below that is a Jet Provost.
Lots of great shots you have taken.

  3. Thanks as ever for putting me right Roy, I bet you thought Submariners knew all the aircraft of the world. Hugh did say Vampire but that was a full 'second' ago so how was I expected to remember that. All the best to you Mate.
