When the Saints Go Marching In - Satchmo

Yesterday's gallivanting has put us a day behind with posts, so what you see here today is in fact yesterday (once more)! As a guest of
TRELAWNEY (older brother of Hugh) and his wife GWEN
seen here enjoying a pre-match pint in the JD Wetherspoon house
The Admiral Lucien Curtis.
7 of us headed to the SAINT MARY'S football ground in
SOUTHAMPTON.
 Others in the company included
their younger son TRISTAN, elder son JUSTIN, his wife
HANNAH and nephew/cousin DARYL.
With this 'kind gift' in hand we joined several thousand others
walking our way to the Stadium for the
SOUTHAMPTON (Soton) v MANCHESTER CITY (Man City)
Premier League Fixture.
It would be fair to say that what I know about football could be written in large capital letters on the back of a postage stamp, this invitation being more about another 'experience of life' rather than the sport itself, so there will be little in the way of text as not many of the players names are memorable to me.
 The teams enter the stadium

and join the crown in a 'One Minute Applause' dedicated to the
Life of Nelson Mandela.
 and they're off, before a
 Capacity Crowd.
 Soton Player CHAMBERS (I think?)
JAMES MILNER (England and Man City)
ADAM LALLANA (England new boy and Soton)
Man City score the first goal then
a bit of a Boy Hug to celebrate.
 Another England new boy RODRIGUEZ
 DAVIS being well beaten by
 SAMMY NASRI
'Anyone who had a HART' - Cilla Black
FLAKY JOE
(below the orange elbow) left on the sidelines again today!
Sorry Janet.
YAYA TOURE
Good job we can see most of the names during this incident.
 Soton 'Free Kick'
 not converted unfortunately.
Man City Keeper PANTILIMON well on top of it.
 AGUARO
 Another close call for City.
The 2 Managers
Chilean MANUEL PELLEGRINI (Man City) left and
Argentinian MAURICIO POCHETTINO (Soton).
and then Soton get one in the back of the net
 causing great joy for
 players and fans alike.
 Another foul!
Plenty of 'sporting activity' for children during the
Half Time Break.
No more goals but the loudest CHEER of the game came when
(England Hero) RICKIE LAMBERT
took to the field.
The final attack came to nought,
followed by the Final Whistle
SOUTHAMPTON 1 - MANCHESTER CITY 1
THANKS TO THE DAMPNEY'S FOR THEIR KINDNESS AND HOSPITALITY!
