Fox on the Run - Sweet

The weather is certainly staying sunny and warm, if not darn-right hot, but let's enjoy it while it lasts. By definition the traps are doing well and last night produced the most prolific crop this year totals reaching 478 individual Macros of 76 species, here are a few of them.
 FOX MOTH
 SCALLOPED HOOK-TIP
 SINGLE-DOTTED WAVE
2 forms of a common Moth
 RIBAND WAVE
 SMALL PHOENIX
 SCORCHED CARPET
 TAWNY BARRED-ANGLE
 BORDERED WHITE
 BRUSSELS LACE
 COMMON FOOTMAN
 BEAUTIFUL HOOK-TIP
 MARBLED WHITE-SPOT
 MILLER
 BORDERED SALLOW
 DOUBLE SQUARE-SPOT
and a couple of Micros to finish off
 BRAMBLE-SHOOT MOTH
 EUCOSMA CANA
Cleaning Stations
took up the rest of the morning with all the traps getting an overall
as well as the car, but p.m. a wander around the farm produced
a few things of interest as it most times does.
No chance of this self-setter
HERB ROBERT
drying out, it has its own water bowser.
WHITE CLOVER
in abundance.
Not a lot of Butterflies so far this year so this
SMALL TORTOISESHELL
was a pleasant sighting.
The flock of young (and old)
STARLING
have tipped the 200 mark
with plenty of mouths to feed.
The COBHAM JETS return to base and the
MUTE SWAN CYGNETS
(all 8 accounted for)
are also growing apace.
