Something in the Air - Thunderclap Newman

Falkland Island's - Part II
The Met Office rarely get it wrong these days and while here on the southern fringe of Dorset
the average rainfall must be very much lower than across the rest of GB, but there was a warning!
The early evening weather chart on Wednesday showed a niggly little pulse of heavy rain for us
early p.m. the next day and that's just what we got!
The first Clap of Thunder was heard at 13:30, with what amounted to a pulse of fairly heavy rain,
and standing in the shower for 10 minutes returned indoors feeling a New Man!

this link will take you through some of the Hippy / Glam / Mod Classics of the 60's and 70's
As well as Thunderclap there is
Woodstock - Matthews Southern Comfort
which is followed by
The Air That I Breath - The Hollies

Virginia Plain - Roxy Music,
and do not miss this rendition of
Freebird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
They took their name from a school teacher who they disliked, distorting his name
Leonard Skinner.
It is the only Rock Band name not to contain a vowel at all and before his death the band formed a deep and lasting friendship with their former master!
Stay on this link as it will take you through the songs listed above and more.

As a Serviceman during those heady, hippy years I was unable to be part of
that community but always embraced it in my heart and head.
Luckily things have very much changed and am able now to live
as close to that ethic as is possible.
If you have ever sung Creep by Radiohead to your girl
(which I must have done dozens of times)
my own slightly abridged version is

When you’re in my arms and I look you in the eye.
You're just like an angel; your skin makes me cry.
You float like a feather, in a beautiful world.
I wish I was special so very special

but I'm a creep!
you may have notices that the riff scarfs in perfectly with the Hollies classic
The Air That I Breath
" Sleep came upon me and it leaves me weak, so sleep Silent Angel, go to sleep"!
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breath.
