Moribund the Burgermeister - Peter Gabriel

A DELAYED POST!

It is doubtful I was alone back in 1974 when thinking, soon after the release of the complexly penned album and the extensive tour of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, Peter Gabriel quit the band that it would be the end of ‘them’ and ‘him’ alone!

How wrong can you be as briefly Ray Wilson of Scottish band Stiltskin took over the vocals before Phil Collins’ wife advised that he might step up to the microphone himself, recording one of their best offerings ever, the seminal 1976

A Trick of the Tail

 - the rest, including his own solo career, is history.

It took Gabriel a little longer to get ‘back in the groove’ but a wait worth waiting for as the eponymous title was released in 1977, with the same for the 3 albums that followed, simply bearing his name, without even a 1 - 2 - 3 - or 4!

Today’s title, which is part of the above, does not relate to the post that follows at all, but maybe Gabriel’s foresight into the predicament the Whole World finds itself in at present, a little ditty about a ‘medieval pandemic’

Sorry to lean on you again so soon Peter!

Caught in the chaos in the market square
I don't know what, I don't know why, but something's wrong down there
Their bodies twistin' and turnin' in a thousand ways
The eyes all rollin' round and round into a distant gaze

With El Sol lighting up the El solar Panels the Wildlife day kicked off with a passing

COMMON BUZZARD

Ah, look at that crowd!

Some are jumping up in the air say "We're drowning in a torrent of blood! Others going down on their knees, seen a saviour coming out of the mud

Oh Mother! It's eating out my soul

Destroying law and order, I'm gonna lose control

What can I do to stop this plague, spread by sight alone
Just a glimpse and then a quiver, then they shiver to the bone

 A juvenile

PHEASANT

on the track up to the Gravel Pit where the c3

MUTE SWANS
remain but far more showy before clapping eyes on not 'one' but 'two'

Ah, look at them go!

Bunderschaft, you are going daft? Better seal off the castle grounds

"This is Moribund, the Burgermeister, I'm gonna keep this monster down,

Somebody sent the subversive element; going to chase it out of town."
No-one will tell what all this is about
But I will find out.

GREEN SANDPIPER
with the closer one
still looking to have
something of the
juvenile about it as well?

This thing's outrageous, I tell you on the level
It's really so contagious must be the work of the devil
You better go now, pick up the pipers, tell them to play
Seems the music keeps them quiet, there is no other way.
Ah, close the doors!

Despite the recent inclement weather the Finch Flock has increased dramatically
GOLDFINCH (juv)

"We've tried potions and waxen dolls, but none of us could find any cures, "
Mother please, is it just a disease, that has them breaking all my laws,
Check if you can disconnect the effect and I'll go after the cause
No-one will tell what this is all about
But I will find out

We are not suggesting the use of 'potions' or 'waxen dolls' but
would anyone be surprised should Johnson and his Crew give them a go?

The 'buzz' started as we unlocked the gate to the Heath in anticipation of what might be found in the Moth Traps after the forced hiatus, but in reallity hopes were not high.

The best in fact were not Moths at all but other Insects such as a

a 'brace' of
DEVIL'S COACH HORSE BEETLE
a
DOR BEETLE
Musotima nitidais
which is one of the only Micro Moth familiar to me and an invader from the Antipodes, there are thousands of them here.
along with that and finally an
ACORN
just one of tens of thousands but a timely reminder to tell how this years bumper crop may have
helped in the breeding season of the beautiful Corvid (Crow)
that is the
JAY
We did pay a quick visit
to the c8
RARE BREED GOATS
before locating the first of the
autumnal
LINNETs
and while once again we were unable to find a
Black Redstart at the Sewerage Works we were rather taken by this
preening pair
of

COLLARED DOVE
Back at Slight Return II
not at all a surprise to find a
Stranger Within
an occassional happening and if not like this Wren then it will be a
Robin searching for groceries!

We are ever aware and alert to the fact that the White-tailed Eagle Project is only a few maile away on the Isle of Wight across the Solent!
