YELLOW - Coldplay

A Dark, Dank, Dreach, Dismal and Downright Depressing day that was Sunday produced little more than a record number of c10

MUTE SWANs
across the Recording Area along with a sprinkling of frost and
a pair of
TEAL
but fear not, our Readers, as again we reached for the 'trusty archive'.

Before the Bogie Man visited us and having given up my 'world-wide’ travels, there has become nothing more enjoyable than the occassional away-day or weekend with our valued friend

DAVE FOOT

Usually restricted to the 2 coastal counties that abound our own territory,
Devon to the west and Hampshire to the right, this post covers one of those visits to the former.    The main thrust at Man Sands, Devon of Saturday 08/02/2020 was a male
BLUE-WINGED TEAL
(which flies right in the face of the Yellow Theme but guess welcome nonetheless)
a vagrant Duck from the
America's
which performed perfectly across our 2 hours stay
amid the stunning Devonshire coastline.
On such trips to that beautiful county there is always an ulterior motive as a by-product to visit the
CIRL BUNTING
colony at
(male)
Broadsands Car Park
(female)
where, along with other coastal sites, they thrive
unlike Dorset where
despite reintroduction attempts
they are considered extinct!
Gone Are The Days!
However, it is not all bad news as we still have decent pockets of
YELLOWHAMMER

(female and male)
across our home county, like these at the same site,
while we hope our attempts have brightened up
an otherwise
Dullish Day!

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day, you fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way. Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town, looking for something or someone to show you the way!
