Thank You For the Days - The Kinks

With things having been a little lacklustre over the past few days to step out into the blue and find a

 'first for the year'
RED UNDERWING
clinging to the fence palings you come to the conclussion that this is about as good as the day is going to get, and were we the gambling kind we might have stuck at that, but these 'er days can be fickle things!
Additionally, we coped for a
CANARY-SHOULDERED THORN
and after a fairly long absence another
STRAW DOT
and not really what we were wanting to see across
The Heath.
Fortunately we got to fairly close quarters with this
ROE BUCK
with the mist doing its best to disapear.
A strange find from the footpath was a dead
LIZARD / NEWT
being predated by a
PILL WOODLOUSE and a WHITE-LEGGED MILLIPEDE
but with no birds and the
Mist Gone
we did notice a few clumps of still blooming
DWARF GORSE
and
BELL HEATHER
but there were bigger fish to fry as this was about to become the
Best Day of the Year
which will take some beating at that!
CHLOE

a dear, dear friend and Moth Apprentice awaiting a return to the traps and introducing me to just 'one month old'

DYLAN FREDERICK
who, to my greatest joy, will refer to me as Uncle Bagsy it could not get any better.
He has also been given nearly all my library of Wildlife books and a further joy to know they will go on to teach another generation.
LOTS of LOVE DYLAN and a LONG and HEALTHY LIFE.

Once upon a time you dressed so fine,
threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People call say 'beware doll, you're bound to fall,'
you thought they were all kidding you!
You used to laugh about, everybody that was hanging out.
Now you don't talk so loud, now you don't seem so proud.
About having to be scrounging your next meal.

How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be without a home
like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone!

Yes, the Very same Dylan as Bob
