All Along the Back-Water

 Through the Rushes Tall

but not exactly what we wanted with Moth Traps to tend!
While this is what passes as a Dawn Chorus these days and the weather soon cleared to find
SCARCE FOOTMAN
in one of the home-bound traps which is very similar to 'close cousin' and more flat looking
COMMON FOOTMAN
in the foreground and the more tube-like Scarce above.
Otherwise,
MARBLED WHITE-SPOT
was a second addition to the Year List before the surprise of finding a new small band of
SYGNETs
at the Main Pond, a surprise as nothing can be seen within
with the vegetation now being so high and dense.
Just a few paces on and the Wildfowl theme continued with young
MALLARDs
but still no signs of having been fathered by the Mandarin Drake.
No change either further north where were found another family of
LITTLE GREBEs
consisting of
the 2 parent birds which never allowed for a shot together
and a total of
4 HUMBUGS
still not obliging enough for a
Full Family Foto
but beware
for where there are 'groceries' there are surely
PREDATORs
looks tranquil enough but........
