One Man Went to Mow

We thought it a good idea to leave 'Best until First' just for a change as plucking the delightful, and 'one of the all time favourites',

from the first trap early doors
CLOUDED BUFF
as an addition to the Year List and soon after a 'second' but far less fetching
COMMON RUSTIC
with back-up crew of the
Eye catching
PEACH BLOSSOM
and
DINGY MOCHA
and before reaching the ponds found the
SWALLOWs
in building mode again an activity we are not prepared to pass by!
We should not have been surprised to find a couple of almost newly hatched
MOORHEN
at the Irrigation Pond but just out of shot the Grey Heron
appeared to be patiently waiting?
The last day of
Nettle Mowing
seems not to have been to the liking of the lone juvenile
LAPWING
while hoping for its return and the first signs of the return of
MISTER MOLE
and it was pleasing at the Gravel Pit to find the return of a pristine pair of
GADWALL
female
male
while the
TUFTED DUCKs
pleasured themselves by attacking the
Little Grebes
as the imported
HIMALAYAN BALSAM
comes to life
while the last of the
ELMs
seems to be ending its days??
