Oh Island in the Sun - Part I

On no more than a whim we decided to chug off the Weymouth and North Portland on what looked more like an Autumn day than Mid-Summer

due to a Trick of the Sun, and no we haven't forgotten the Moth Traps!
A fine trio of 'first's for the year'
SCALLOP SHELL
BLACK ARCHES
and
SMALL DOTTED BUFF
ditto
the next time we looked we were at
FERRYBRIDGE PORTLAND
under quite a different cloud formation with
most obliging
OYSTERCATCHERs
kicking off proceedings.
Scanning the fore-shore and the Fleet most promising were the calls of Terns
which we would chase up later after concentrating on the equally obliging
MEDITERRANIAN GULLs
mostly adults
but also
in the mix
a number of
Younger Individuals
At a mooring in the middle of the Fleet a barge holding
LOBSTER / CRAB POTS
which would surely have gone A.W.O.L. had they been left ashore!
and to end what will likely become a 'trilogy'
RAG-WORM CASTs
