Oh Island in the Sun - Part II

With our visit having been in the recent past, but not recent enough to remember which day it was, all we can do is to remind you that it was 'last week' and the Terns were about to appear!

But firstly the Moths since then

starting with the most handsome and sharply contrasting

the tiny

MINOR SHOULDER-KNOT

and just as we suspected, the

SUSPECTED
moth that is!
As previously recalled the Terns could be heard from afar but mostly reluctant to come to the east of the estuary, but eventually first one

COMMON TERN

followed by a second before our attention turned to a small number of
Wading Birds
at the tide-line

represented by a couple of

SANDERLING

another 'turn' this time

TURNSTONE
while the 'tern' theme continued with the dainty

LITTLE TERNs

gracing

our optics

before clocking a single

WHEATEAR

close to the car park.
It would have been a wasted moment had we not stopped of at Lodmore on our way home,

luckily

catching up with the

GREAT WHITE EGRET

There were c5 reported there yesterday!!
